Fall In Europe: The Ultimate Travel Bucket List for 2022
The fall season brings with it beautiful weather, cozy nights by the fire, and delicious food. Whether you’re looking for a romantic weekend away or an adventure-filled trip, I’ve got you covered.
Autumn is one of my favorite seasons because there’s something magical about the changing colors of the leaves. When the trees turn yellow, orange, red, and brown, it makes me feel like I’m living inside a painting.

And while autumn is often associated with Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, it’s also a wonderful time to travel. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, then take advantage of the cooler temperatures and explore some of the most breathtaking places in Europe. Here are my top picks for fall trips in Europe.

European cities in the fall
There are so many places to visit in Europe during the fall season. From the mountains of Switzerland to the beaches of Croatia, there are plenty of options for anyone looking to travel to Europe during the fall. Here are some of my favorite spots to go to in Europe for fall in 2022.
Autumn in Amsterdam
If you want to see some of the best sights in Europe during the fall, then head to Amsterdam. With its charming canal houses, historic buildings, and quaint cafes, there’s plenty to explore. And if you’re looking for something a little different, try one of the many unique restaurants in town.
For example, at the restaurant De Bierkamer, you’ll find a menu that includes dishes such as “crispy duck breast with apple compote” and “chicken liver parfait.”
From the end of September to the beginning of December, the autumn season is a unique and magical time to visit Amsterdam. The streets are covered with red and golden leaves. The canals are bathed in a soft light at the end of the day. The bars and restaurants are at their coziest. And, the cultural season is in full swing. In short, autumn in Amsterdam is full of activities.

Paris
There are so many things to see and do in Paris, whether you’re looking for an adventure or just relaxing by the Seine River. The city’s streets are lined with colorful leaves, and the air is crisp and cool.
You’ll find yourself surrounded by cobblestone streets, charming cafes, and quaint shops. And if you’re lucky enough to be there during one of the many festivals, you’ll be able to enjoy some of the best music, art, and culture France has to offer.
I have listed for you the most beautiful spots where you can admire the golden leaves
- The Saint-Vincent street in Montmartre, 18th arrondissement
The hottest street in Paris! Concerning its colors, of course! Warning: the spot is at its peak in terms of colors when we write this article, on November 2nd! Go for it
- The Tuileries Garden, 1st arrondissement
The only one, the only one, is usually the first place that comes to mind, and for good reason: the views from the garden alleys overlooking the Louvre are simply sublime…
- The Rue de l’Abreuvoir in Montmartre’s 18th arrondissement : classic but effective, the street reaches new heights in the final months of the year! My personal favorite? The house just in front of the Maison Rose, which is, according to us, THE real treasure. Psst: don’t forget to take a stroll down to the vineyards!
- The Jardin des Plantes, 5th arrondissement
Of course, it would be a shame not to think about it! The 17th-century garden is The place to go for a walk to enjoy the autumn colors. My tip? Extend your walk along the banks of the Seine; admiring the Ile Saint-Louis from the left bank promises beautiful moments of poetry.

Bavaria, Germany
If you love castles, then Neuschwanstein is one of the most beautiful ones in Germany. It’s located in Bavaria and was built between 1869 and 1886. This castle has been featured in several movies, such as “The Sound of Music” and “Schindler’s List.”

Scotland
Scotland is home to some of the world’s most stunning scenery, with its rugged coastline, rolling hills, and lush green valleys. There are also plenty of historical sites to explore, including Edinburgh Castle, Stirling Castle, and the Scottish Parliament.
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, then head to Scotland for some fall fun. With its stunning scenery, friendly people, and delicious food, Scotland has everything you could ask for in a vacation destination. And if you’re looking for a little romance, there’s plenty of opportunity to find it here too.

Transylvania, Romania
If you’re looking for an adventure-filled trip, then Romania might just be the place for you. From hiking through the Carpathian Mountains to exploring the ancient ruins of Transylvania, Romania has something for everyone.
With its gorgeous countryside, picturesque towns, and welcoming locals, it’s easy to see why this country has been dubbed “the land of a thousand hills.” And while the country is known for its stunning scenery, it’s also home to some of the best spas in the world.
One of the most popular destinations is the Transylvanian town of Sighisoara, which is located in the south of the country. Here, visitors can enjoy a range of treatments, such as mud baths, herbal wraps, and massages.
There’s also plenty of outdoor activities to keep guests busy during their stay. Guests can hike through the mountains, visit historical sites, and take part in horseback riding excursions.
